The world is getting smaller as #scientific and #R&D innovations ignore national borders

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Boy, the world is a small place, and getting smaller everyday. With 24 hour news cycles, facebook, and twitter events unfold in real-time. Our ability to participate (whether responding to people in need such as in Haiti; or witnessing protests in Iran) has never been greater. And, no where is this more apparent then with  scientific, R&D, and medical innovations as reported in Pharmatech Talk (A Global Scorecard for Scientific Innovation ).

Clearly, this sort of global scientific collaboration has and will continue to be enabled by technology innovations. I can’t help but wonder how this trend has helped along by the Internet; and both scientific and research collaborative platforms (built on the Internet). sharing information today is vastly easier and cheaper than any other point in history.

the shear speed by which information is collected, analyzed, shared and disseminated will, no doubt, continue.
